Ministries of St. Matthew’s

Sunday Worship

Sunday services begin at 9:45 am with a rousing hymn sing. There is time for requests from the congregation for 3 – 4 hymns to be sung prior to worship. The hymn sing is followed by the Pastor’s children’s message. Our worship service consists of lessons, music, preaching and prayer. All are welcome to celebrate communion – you do not have to be a member of St. Matthew’s or a Lutheran. The service is followed by a fellowship time. The 3rd Sunday of each month a Family Service is held that is led by the Sunday School and youth members of the congregation. A special children’s area within the sanctuary that is filled with quiet toys and activities is available. We would love to have you join us for Worship!

Sunday School:  Sunday School is held weekly at 10:00 am.  The children are invited to participate in our worship and children’s message in the sanctuary, Children ages 4 – 12 are invited to attend a time of learning with our Sunday School and enjoy many crafts.  Join us on Palm Sunday to make Easter crosses from palms.

Confirmation Class:  Youth ages 12 – 13 receive instruction in preparation of their confirmation.

Adult Study:  Theme based study sessions are offered throughout the year.  There are both afternoon and evening sessions to accommodate busy schedules.  All are welcome.

God has given us all that we have.  What we do with it is called Stewardship.  We encourage everyone to consider how their time, talent and possessions can be used most effectively for the kingdom and for each one of us personally. They are many areas in worship and the day to day operations of the church where the work of our volunteers is essential.  From acolyte to choir member we could not exist without them.
